TIPS FOR INTEGRATION OF KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER ACTIVITIES AND OTHER HR PROCESSES
Below is a list of other HR activities that may trigger a corresponding activity from the Knowledge Transfer (KT) process:
Retention Triggers
- Identification of key positions with a key employee where the manager has knowledge that employee is looking for another job, and there is no existing documentation of the critical knowledge or a ready replacement.
- A need for training of manager or employee
- A need for career development and more "employment value proposition" (that is, the set of attributes that employees and the labor market perceive as the value they gain through employment in the organization.)
- Exit interviews revealed that employees felt that they were not properly trained to do their jobs
- Manager effectiveness training
Succession & Recruitment Triggers
- Identifying key positions with no ready replacements
- Decision to grow your own talent versus buying or recruiting
- Predictive reporting for developmental needs or recruitment needs
