Submissions guidelines

To Submit a Book for Review

The NC Office of State Personnel's Performance Solutions Team reviews books that speak to the challenges of today's HR professional. To submit a book for review on the Performance Solutions website, send an advance review copy prior to a title's publication date. Early receipt of your book will give us adequate time to assess the relevance of a book and, if chosen, review the book.

When submitting a book for review, please include the following information:

  • Author(s)
  • Author's e-mail address, phone number and a publicity contact for the book.
  • Date of publication
  • Price
  • Number of Pages
  • ISBN number
  • Publisher

If you would like to submit a review to be considered for inclusion on the Performance Solutions website, please read the information below.

All book reviews must have some connection with Human Resources broadly, or with the main subject areas covered on the website. These include:

Performance Culture
Workforce Planning
Strategic Planning
Retention
Metrics
Rewards and Recognition
Work Environment
Performance Management

Career Development
Knowledge Transfer
Leader Development
Diversity Management
Recruitment
Selection
Succession Planning

Submissions should include:

  • Book review — electronic copy in Word format.
  • Detailed information about the reviewed book should be listed in the following order:
  • Book title
  • author(s)
  • publication year
  • publisher
  • city
  • total number of pages
  • indicate if illustrations, photographs, appendix, or index are included
  • price as it applies to hardcover and/or paperback copy; hardcover or paperback.
  • The reviewer's name, academic degree, title, and contact details (institutional affiliation mailing address, phone number, and E-mail address) should be listed.

This information should be sent via e-mail to performance.solutions@osp.nc.gov. The review will then be reviewed by the Performance Solutions Team who will determine if the review will be included on the website.
